Jenny
Orlova
I’ve built more than one career.
In more than one country.
I started my career at Merrill Lynch on Wall Street in New York.
Then I went to London Business School for my MBA and changed direction completely, co-founding a fashion startup in London.
My next chapter took me to Amsterdam and into higher education strategy and international development. My work eventually spanned 24 countries and contributed to the creation of seven new universities.
And then I changed direction again.
Today, I coach senior international professionals who are deciding what they want to build next and are ready to start making it happen.
I have changed professional direction more than four times myself. So I understand that an established career can be successful and still not be the career you want forever.
And I understand international careers from the inside. For more than 20 years, my own work and life have crossed countries, industries, organizations, and cultures.

My clients don’t need me
to tell them how to be successful.
They already are.
They lead teams, make difficult decisions, manage demanding roles, and know how to get things done.
Often, they already know what they want to do next, too.
The problem is that their current career is very good at taking their time and attention. So the board role they want to pursue, the business they want to explore, the next career move they want to make, or the strategic work they want to prioritize keeps getting pushed back.

My approach combines how you operate with what you actually do.
I’m a Certified Neurointegration Trainer, trained in a neuroscience-based methodology that looks at how your Inner State, Thinking Patterns, and Behavior interact.
I combine that with the strategic thinking and execution I developed over more than 20 years of international work.
Because knowing the right career strategy isn’t always enough.
You can have the plan and still postpone it. You can know the meeting isn’t really urgent and still give it your attention first. You can decide that networking, strategic thinking, or exploring a new direction matters and still watch another month disappear.
So our work doesn’t stop at deciding what you should do.
And I know the work translates into real decisions and action.
My clients have used this work to act on professional changes they had been postponing for months or even years, including leaving a job, exiting a business, starting a new role, and changing how they work in a demanding leadership position, without burning themselves out in the process.
One client, a Non-Executive Board Director, came to me while circling a decision about leaving her business. After one Cognitive Surfing session, she told me she had broken the cycle of overthinking and procrastination and “finally made a clear decision how to exit my business.”

I don’t believe you need to blow up a
successful career to create something different.
You may want a different executive role. A board seat. A business. A portfolio career. A different professional direction. Or simply a different way of working.
The point is not to disregard everything you have already built.
It is to stop allowing what you have already built to consume all the time and attention required to create what comes next.
That is why I created The Commitment Sprint™.
